Majors win in four over Belhaven

JACKSON, Miss. - The Millsaps Majors defeated the Belhaven Blazers 3-1 tonight to move their winning streak to six games.
The first two sets were neck-and-neck with the Majors edging out a 25-22 margin in both to jump out 2-0 on the Blazers. Belhaven stormed back in the third match to win 25-18 before the final match saw the Majors claim the 25-13 set and the victory.
Kate Hall led all Major scorers with 16 kills on the night with Maggie Tumminello coming in second at 10. Tumminello severed up three aces to add to her total as well.
The Majors' net work was solid with Kasey Laird ringing up four assisted blocks and Raven Scott just behind her at three assisted and one solo block.
Laird was also impressive defensively on the night, leading the team with 16 digs in the four sets Erica Cook chipped in with 12 of her own in the game.
The Majors will return to action this weekend in the Rhodes College Invitational up in Memphis. Millsaps will take on SCAC-rivals Birmingham-Southern and host Rhodes College in non-conference matches on Saturday before facing Franklin & Marshall and Webster Colleges on Sunday.
