LONGVIEW, Texas - The Millsaps women's soccer team turned in another solid performance on the road to end the weekend 2-0 after defeating LeTourneau 2-1 on Saturday.
Jessica Harris netted both goals for the Majors a little over twenty minutes apart. She got the first goal off an assist from
Holly Warren to give Millsaps the early lead in the 12th minute.
The Yellow Jackets countered in the 23rd with a unassisted goal from Judy Lang that momentarily tied the match at 1-1, but Harris answered again in the 33rd this time fed from
Tara Johnston.
The Majors outshot LeTourneau 18-3 on the day. Millsaps' keeper
Sarah Nelin had a lonely day in goal as she faced just the one shot on goal that sailed past her for the Yellow Jackets' only score of the game. LeTourneau's Nicole Tammelin managed to keep ten Major attempts from landing on the scoreboard on her, much busier, end of the pitch.
The Majors will return to Harper Davis Field this Friday as they host the Division I Alcorn State Braves at 6:00 p.m.
