CLINTON, Miss. - The Millsaps Majors won the first two sets tonight en route to a 3-1 victory over cross-town rivals Mississippi College.

The Majors (1-0) took the opening sets 25-19 before dropping a tight third set 25-23 to the Choctaws (0-1). Coach Burns' team took care of business in the fourth set, winning 25-22 and preventing a fifth set tie-breaker.

The Majors will open their home schedule this weekend as they host the 2010 Millsaps Invitational.  They will open play with Faulkner University at noon on Saturday, but there will be a full slate of games beginning on Friday afternoon.

Belhaven, Martin Methodist, LeTourneau, Faulkner, Loyola, Schreiner, and Centenary will round out the field for the weekends' events.  Matches begin at 3:00 on Friday and continue all weekend.
