JACKSON – The Millsaps College volleyball team finished its spring season with a play-day held at Jackson State University on Saturday and played well recording a 3-1 record on the day.

The Majors picked up victories against Mississippi Valley State University (Division I), Alabama State University (Division I) and rival Mississippi College (Division III) while falling to host JSU (Division I).

“The team showed lots of improvement over the spring and everything we worked on the past month came together for this event, especially our overall defense and passing, which we working extensively on” head coach Jaime Burns said.

“This was a good way to end the spring as it gave the athletes a chance to see results from their hard work in the off-season.”

Millsaps will get back to work, reporting to campus on August 18, to begin preparation for the 2010 season, which kicks-off with a match against Mississippi College on Sept. 1, 2010.
