JACKSON – In the final game of the 2010 Maloney Series, the Millsaps College baseball team was shut out for the first time since 2007 as Belhaven University earned the season-sweep over the Majors with a 12-0 victory in seven innings at Smith-Wills Stadium Thursday night.
The Majors have not been shut out in a game since a 5-0 seven-inning loss to Austin College at home March 17, 2007, a stretch of 154 games.
In the Jim Page era, Millsaps has been held scoreless in only 20 games dating back to the 1989 season.

The Majors threatened in the first inning loading the bases after
Jules Roussel and
Will Hawkins hit a pair of singles followed by a walk to
Tyler Berry.
Millsaps could not take advantage as
Jake Mills grounded into a 1-2-3 double play to end the inning.
Ryan Zemke started for the Majors and was in-command early holding the Blazers to no runs and two hits through three innings.
In the fourth, Belhaven broke things open using six hits and three Millsaps errors to take a commanding 8-0 lead.
Timmy Foster hit a two-run home run in his first at-bat of the inning and later added two more RBIs with a single.
The Blazers scored two more in the fifth for a 10-0 advantage and closed out the game with two more runs in the sixth behind another home run by Foster for the 12-0 victory.
After allowing two hits in the first inning, Bennett settled-in and pitched the final six innings allowing just one hit.
The Majors, now 24-12 overall, will head to San Antonio, Texas over the weekend to face Trinity University in a three-game series that will decide the winner of the SCAC West Division.
