JACKSON - The Millsaps College women's basketball team carried a lead late into the second half but visiting Trinity University used a final surge to steal the conference win at The Hangar Dome Saturday night, 62-58.
The Tigers overcame a 7-point deficit in the second half and came away with their 17th consecutive win over the Majors since 2001. Trinity improved to 9-4 overall and 3-2 in the SCAC, while Millsaps dropped to 0-14 and 0-5 in the league.

Lovie Love to open its largest lead of the game 29-20 with just over five minutes remaining in the opening half.
Using an 11-2 scoring run, Trinity clawed its way back into the game as the Majors maintained a 32-31 halftime lead.

Trinity responded with seven straight points to even the score with five minutes remaining in regulation, 50-50.
After a free throw and a layup from Morton gave the Majors a 53-50 advantage, the Tigers used a jumper from Abby Dietert, who finished with a game-high 19 points, to take a 56-54 lead with two minutes to play.
Salmon tied the score 56-56 with a basket and Morton had a chance to regain a Millsaps lead but missed the contested layup.
Trinity grabbed the reins and claimed a two point lead from the charity stripe until Walton's tying effort.
Free throws by Megan D'Errico and Ali Marzella in the closing seconds sealed the conference win for the Tigers, 62-58.
Morton recorded her team-leading sixth double-double finishing with 14 points and ten rebounds to lead the Majors. Salmon and Walton added 14 and ten points, respectively.
Millsaps remains home as it closes its 6-game homestand with conference games with Centre College and DePauw University, January 15 and 17.
