MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Running in the annual Rhodes College Invitational 8K at Shelby Farms, freshman
Hugo Cordova finished in the middle of the pack with a time of 31:18 to pace the Millsaps Majors to an 11th place overall finish out of a 14-team field made up of Division I, II and III participants.
Cordova's 6:19 pace earned him a 52nd place finish individually in a pool of 111 runners, with freshman teammate
Tim Gillis's 6:49 pace placing him 71st overall.
As a team, Millsaps scored 315 points, finishing ahead of Lane College, LeMoyne and the University of Arkansas-Monticello. Meet host Rhodes College won the event for a second consecutive year, scoring a solid 57 points, while South Arkansas and UT-Martin rounded out the top three finishers.
Millsaps will take a much needed rest this weekend before jumping back into action in two weeks at the Watson Ford Invitational at Choctaw Trails in Clinton.
