Brackin Finishes T-24th at SCAC Golf Championships

TUNICA -- In the 2009 SCAC Golf Championships at nationally-acclaimed Tunica National Golf Club, junior Mirel Brackin -- Millsaps' lone representative -- carded a three-day score of 281 to finish in a tie for 24th place out of a field of 39 golfers.
Brackin fired an opening-round score of 99, followed that up with a 6-stroke improvement on Day 2 in carding a 93 and then shot an 89 on the final round.
Southwestern blew away the field with a three-day score of 969, winning by a lopsided 72 strokes over second place DePauw. The Pirates were led by Marisa Mauldin with a first place finish of 233 who earned All-SCAC honors at the conclusion of the tournament.
