JACKSON - First year head cross country and track & field coach Andy Till announced today an inaugural 8K run, 5K Walk and Mile Championship on Saturday, January 30, 2010 to help benefit the first-year track & field program at Millsaps College.

Registration and packet pickup starts at 6:30 a.m. with the race to start at 8 a.m. The challenging and scenic course runs down North State Street, Riverside Drive and through the historical Belhaven neighborhood and is USATF certified.

All participants will receive a t-shirt and be eligible for door prizes. Online registration forms are available now at www.msracetiming.com or by clicking here.

8K Run: Overall male and female winners, masters male and female, grand masters male and female, and top three in each age group will be awarded prizes. Ages 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 55-59, 60 and over.

5K Walk: Overall male and female winners and top three in each age group will be awarded prizes. Ages 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50 and over.

MILE Championship: This is for ages 12 and under only. Top three male and female finishers will receive awards. All finishers will receive a medal. No age group awards.
