HOLLY SPRINGS - The Millsaps College volleyball team (11-9 overall and 3-4 SCAC) traveled to Rust College for a non-conference match and came away with its fourth straight victory Wednesday night in convincing fashion 3-0.
The Majors controlled the match from start to finish to record their sixth victory in their last seven matches. Freshman right side hitter Raven Scott recorded a team-high 12 kills -- matching her career-high -- to pace the Millsaps attack . Junior outside hitter Kate Hall finished with 9 kills in support.
Senior libero Dixie Krauss ended the night with a total of 19 digs to lead a defense that completely shut down the Rust attack. A strong point for the Majors was their serving as they droppped 12 aces on Rust, led by four from Krauss and three from senior defensive specialist Erica Cook.
Head coach Jaime Burns' team has not yielded a set since the deciding fifth-set against Rhodes College and have won each of its last four matches by a score of 3-0.
Millsaps will put its win streak on the line this weekend as they head to Conway, Ark. for another SCAC Cross-Divisional hosted by Hendrix College. The Majors open play Saturday at 12:00 p.m. against Austin College.
