HATTIESBURG – Running in the University of Southern Mississippi Cross Country Open, the Millsaps College women’s cross country team finished the 5k run behind a strong performance from junior Krista Clark with a time of 24:20.56.
After Clark crossed the tape in 31st place, the rest of her Major teammates were not far behind as Angel Butler, Mary Mitchell Williams, Molly Lehmuller and Nell Knox completed the 5,000 meter course in positions 35 through 38, respectively.
Taking first place in the meet was Nichols State University followed by the University of Southern Mississippi, Xavier University (La.), Spring Hill College and Millsaps College.
Millsaps will take some much needed time off as they prepare for the SCAC Championships hosted by Oglethorpe University on Saturday, Oct. 31. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. in Atlanta, Ga.
