Gillis Leads Major Men at USM Cross Country Open

HATTIESBURG – Freshman Tim Gillis turned in a 16th place finish (24:17.44) in the four mile run to lead the Millsaps College men’s cross country team at the University of Southern Mississippi Cross Country Open.
Xavier University (La.) claimed the top spot in the meet followed by Nichols State University, Spring Hill College, Belhaven College and Millsaps College.
Gillis was followed by teammates Hunter Bondurant (27th), Alex Cummings (32nd), Hugo Cordova (33rd) and Andrew Fleming (36th).
Millsaps will take the next 12 days off as they prepare for the SCAC Championships hosted by Oglethorpe University on Saturday, Oct. 31. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
