Johnson Leads Millsaps in MS College Invitational 4K

CLINTON – In the women’s first meet of the fall 2008 season, sophomore Anna Johnson finished fourth overall with a time of 16:42.92 to pace the Majors in the Mississippi College Invitational 4K Run on Friday.
Featuring six teams, Johnson was the first Major to cross the tape averaging a 6:43 mile. Also placing very well was senior Maria Greene who averaged a 7:39 pace to finish in 26th place. Junior Ginny Nippes averaged 7:52 minutes for a 32nd place finish.
For the host Choctaws, Jennifer Cooper, Kellie Kirby and Jessica McGee finished sixth, seventh and 12th with times of 16:52.34, 16:55.89 and 17:33.32.
The Majors next event of the fall season takes place this Friday in Hattiesburg, Miss.
