Brower Tabbed to Lead Majors' Cross Country Teams

JACKSON – Athletic director Tim Wise announced today the hiring of Beverly Brower to take over head coaching duties for the men's and women's cross country programs. Her official start date is Aug. 21.
Brower enters her first season coaching at the collegiate level with the Majors cross country teams in 2008.
Brower received her bachelors from Belhaven College in elementary education in 2006 where she had one of her best years as a runner in 2005. That year, she was able to place seventh in the All-Region XIII, 171st in the NAIA cross country championships and was tabbed an NAIA All-America Scholar Athlete.
An avid runner still, Brower is going into her third year teaching third grade at Davis Magnet School in Jackson and regularly competes in many marathons including the Mississippi Trail in which she placed second with a time of 8:56:16.
She is married to John Brower who works at Fleet Feet Sports in Jackson.
