Majors Run Strong in MS College Invitational

CLINTON – In the men’s first meet of the fall 2008 season, senior Taylor Weglicki finished 28th overall with a time of 18:39.58 to pace the Majors in the Mississippi College Invitational 4K Run on Friday.
Featuring six teams, Weglicki was the first Major to cross the tape averaging a 6:00 mile. Also placing very well was sophomore Evan Parker who averaged a 6:02 race to finish in 30th place. Junior Lloyd Gray averaged 6:02 minutes for a 31st finish. Unfortunately for the Majors’ they could not place in spite of strong finishes.
For the host Choctaws, Will Clingon, Kenny Whitman and Hunter Boykin finished fourth, fifth and 13th with times of 16:46.69, 16:49.68, and 17:41.60.
The Majors next event of the fall season takes place this Friday in Hattiesburg, Miss.
