Jim Page, a six-time conference Coach of the Year selection, enters his 22nd season at the helm of the Majors' baseball program in 2010 after guiding Millsaps to its third most wins in program history at 34-10 overall, a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference West Division title and its sixth trip to an NCAA Regional a year ago.

Page became the first Millsaps coach and just the 30th in NCAA Division III baseball history to reach 500 career wins last season. Shortly after reaching this accomplishment, the Majors darted out to their best start ever at 19-2. What followed was a No. 1 ranking for the first time in the history of any athletic program at Millsaps on April 14, 2009, when D3baseball.com tabbed the Majors the best team in all of NCAA Division III baseball.

A native of Woodbridge, Va., Page has been a part of the Millsaps community for nearly four decades, graduating from the College in 1985 with a B. S. degree in education and joining the staff shortly thereafter as an assistant coach, then head coach to begin the 1989 season.

During his tenure, the Majors have claimed at least a share of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship three of the previous seven seasons, taking the crown in 2006 after posting a school best 37-13 record. They were named SCAC West Champions in 2007 and 2009 after posting 35-11 and 34-10 overall records, respectively.

Page owns a 533-306-3 (.635) career record, including leading the Majors to two CAC titles, six SCAC titles and six trips to the NCAA Division III Regionals. Millsaps fell in the winner’s bracket of the NCAA Central Regional in 2009.

In the early 1990s, his teams claimed a record five consecutive conference championships (1990-94) and their first two NCAA Regional appearances in the 1995 and ‘96 seasons. The 1996 team also led the nation in doubles and finished ranked 19th in the country.

Page played his college ball at Millsaps College (1981-85) under head coach Tommy Ranager, who in turn, was selected into the Millsaps Hall of Fame in 1998 alongside Page. He not only earned MVP honors his sophomore and senior seasons, but was named team captain as well. In Page’s senior season, he hit a blistering .487 from the plate, a record that still stands today.

Over 60 of his former players have been selected to the All-SCAC team, 26 have been selected to the all-region team, eight tabbed all-americans and six players chosen in the MLB Draft. Page has also coached 11 SCAC Players of the Year, including Garner Wetzel, (2005, 2006) Hunter Owen (2007, 2008) and Will Hawkins (2009) and five former Pitcher of the Year selections.

He is married to the former Cindy Yarbrough of Meridian and they have two daughters, Caitlyn (19) a sophomore at Millsaps and Jamie Blair (17), along with two sons, Keaton (12) and Case (7).
